SATURN: FIND YOUR DETOUR
Detour: New Roads to Fitness is an innovative integrated marketing partnership between Rodale and General Motors Corp. to support Saturn's reach—specifically the Aura, Outlook and Vue—into the healthy, active lifestyle marketplace. This multichannel marketing platform is brought to life utilizing multiple touch points emphasizing the digital experience.
FindYourDetour.com, an interactive community hub, encourages visitors to take a detour from their current routines by exploring complementary activities, such as snowboarding, surfing and yoga, in order to enhance their performance in their core sports. The site features daily blogs, RSS feeds, podcasts, profiles and user-generated content that emphasizes collaboration and sharing among participants.
A high-impact insert with a beginner's guide appeared inside each Rodale magazine to generate awareness and drive readers online during the program launch. Each guide was customized to the magazine readership. Advertorials promoting the online community hub continue the consumer buzz.
By securing official automotive sponsorship rights at more than 150 grassroots running events in key Saturn markets, Rodale Events further supported Saturn's commitment to the healthy lifestyle community. Saturn branding includes race numbers, race bags, mile markers, finish line tape, banners and the option for local Saturn dealers to activate a 20-square-foot footprint on race day with a vehicle display reaching 200,000 participants and more than 420,000 spectators.
Scale and impact were enhanced via an exclusive partnership with AOL and direct mail to the Rodale database.
OLYMPUS
Capture It All is an event-based program created and executed by Rodale Marketing Solutions to position the Olympus Stylus 770 SW as the digital camera for outdoor enthusiasts. The program put cameras into the hands of rugged adventurists at five major outdoor festivals, daring consumers to do the ultimate: Take spectacular shots while testing the waterproof, shockproof, crushproof and freezeproof features of the Stylus 770.
