As a consumer-focused recreational brand, Polaris relied on Nelson Schmidt’s B2B marketing expertise to help develop new go-to-market strategies for the company to reach business-to-business buyers within adjacent commercial markets.

Formulate

NS led market segmentation efforts to define opportunities across global commercial, agricultural, governmental and institutional sectors. Over 800,000 commercial business entities were identified providing Polaris with a large-scale opportunity for commercial market expansion.

Execute

From brand platform development to the exploration and development of new channels, NS helped define an overall marketing strategy to accelerate demand among international B2B buyers. Once in place, comprehensive dealer support programs were developed to educate and prepare the channel while integrated paid/earned/owned lead generation programs were rolled out by market segment.

Measure

Polaris met its dealer recruitment goals in the first 100 days of program launch. The initial campaign generated over 4,000 qualified leads among new commercial buyers. And in 2013, Polaris built upon the market development success of its GEM campaign to launch its second commercial offering, "Brutus," which is Polaris’ first purpose-built, commercial-specific vehicle.
