HISTORY delivers. Last year HISTORY said it would end 2009 as a top 10 network in the key adult 25-to-54 demo—and the network did.1 Now in 2010, HISTORY raised the bar by landing in the top 10 among adults 25 to 54 and adults 18 to 49.2 HISTORY did this by retaining its core audience and bringing in new, younger viewers. The strategy is simple: HISTORY provides a diverse portfolio of quality series and specials, programming that looks at history through a contemporary lens, which in turn compels viewers to keep coming back. HISTORY has solidified a trust that now allows it to push the boundaries of how people view history the genre and HISTORY the network.

Thanks to three years of steady growth,3 HISTORY is now the ninth-largest cable network,1 and its median age is four years younger than three years ago.5 Already a leader in attracting hard-to-reach male viewers, HISTORY's ambitious 2010-11 programming slate builds on that. New series include "The Kennedys," the network's first scripted miniseries, focusing on America's most fascinating family; "Top Shot," a competition to find the ultimate marksman; "Chasing Mummies," which shadows a legendary archeologist; and "Only in America With Larry the Cable Guy," an informative new approach to history that will be as memorable as it is quirky. New specials offer a fresh look at the Civil War on the 150th anniversary of its beginning and a glimpse inside "The President's Book of Secrets."

Viewer favorites "American Pickers," "Ax Men," "Ice Road Truckers" and "Pawn Stars" all return with new seasons. And the launch of History.com allows viewers to dive deeper into topics they crave. All this cements HISTORY's status as the network where "history is made every day."

Americans know President Reagan's politics, policies, and oratorical prowess. But in 2011, the year of his 100th birthday, the totality of the man is still eclipsed by the myth. "Reagan" is the epic story of this unforgettable man who, against all odds, rose to the pinnacle of power.

History of the World in Two Hours
From the formation of the Earth and the emergence of life, to the advance of man and the growth of civilization, this CGI-driven special provides a rapid-fire view of 14 billion years of history.

The Kennedys
One of the world's most iconic families inspires HISTORY's first scripted drama, "The Kennedys," which will star Oscar-nominated, Emmy Award-winning actors Greg Kinnear as John F. Kennedy and Tom Wilkinson as Joe Kennedy Sr. This miniseries, one of the most ambitious the network has undertaken, chronicles society and class, scandal and tragedy, public greatness and private frailty during one of the most momentous decades in history.
